New Beginnings Romania is an outreach ministry of Calvary Chapel Boise and is a recognized non-governmental organization (NGO) in Romania chartered specifically to minister to orphaned and abandoned children. In the eight years that New Beginnings has been ministering in Romania, many lives have been touched with the love of God.
New Beginnings directly supports an ever growing number of Romanian orphans. Through its network of "Family Centers" and Christian foster care, New Beginnings provides abandoned children with love, care, and emotional and spiritual development.
Since its formation, a team of like-minded Romanian and American believers have joined the New Beginnings team. As the needs and opportunities continue to expand please join the team through prayer in seeking God's direction and provision for the workers and resources necessary to meet these challenges.
In the summer of 1995 pastor Bob Caldwell of Calvary Chapel Boise led a mission team of about twenty young believers throughout Europe. On that trip, God made it clear that Calvary Chapel Boise was to make a commitment to proclaim the Gospel in Romania.
The tragic plight of the many abandoned children there was very obvious, and addressing this need was a basic tenant of the Christian faith. Secondly, there was the need to see the Gospel preached and churches started in this nation that had been left with a gaping spiritual vacuum from many years of Communism.
After much prayer and waiting for God's confirmed direction. Calvary Chapel began an outreach based in the city of Bistrita. Shawn and Denise Hubbs, long time staff members at Calvary Chapel Boise, responded to the need and along with their two children, moved to Romania in 1999.
Since that time, God has greatly blessed the ministry's efforts. The Hubbs were successful in establishing the legal framework for the ministry in Romania by forming a Non-Governmental Organization called Asociatia Inceputuri Noi. Through this NGO they began working with the Romanian government to bring children out of the old institutional orphanages and into loving family settings.
